Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Grant – Durdan’s Park Primary School Statement

Pupil Premium funding was first allocated to schools in April 2011. It is paid directly to schools and is to be used to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to therefore ensure that the gap narrows between these pupils and their peers.

The school has received the following amount of funding over recent years –

Pupil Premium April 20 – April 21 = £67,138

Pupil Premium April 21 – April 22 = £58,507

Pupil Premium April 22 – April 23 = £74,906

Pupil Premium April 23 – April 23 = £93,120

The school receives an amount of money for each pupil, of compulsory school age who is eligible.

There are different categories of eligibility, each one attracts a different amount of funding.

For the Year 2023/2024 the funding that can be accessed by children a Durdan’s Park Primary School will be as follows:

Pupils who are eligible for free school meals, or have been eligible in the past 6 years = £1,455

Pupils who have been adopted from care or have left care = £2,530

Children who are looked after by the local authority = £2,530

There is also Service pupil premium (SPP)

Schools will get £335 for every pupil with a parent who:

  • is serving in HM Forces
  • has retired on a pension from the Ministry of Defence

Pupil Premium funding is allocated based on data submitted in the October Census.

At Durdan’s Park Primary School we are committed to raising the attainment of all pupils and therefore interventions and additional support is set based on individual needs taking into account any barriers each pupil may be facing. Progress of all pupils is reviewed termly and the support needed by individual pupils is amended as a result.

The progress and attainment of pupils in receipt of the PPG is reported on termly. This information, along with a breakdown of the overall expenditure is reported to Governors annually.

The Pupil Premium Strategy will next be reviewed in the Summer of 2024.
